Have an idea for a 3m x 7m park? Take that idea to a parking space.
Anyone can submit an application to participate in PARK(ing) Day by the deadline of August 24, 2018. Space is limited though.
PARK(ing) Day started one afternoon in 2005 when design studio Rebar turned a metered parking spot into a temporary park. Now a global initiative on the third Friday of September, individuals have turned a parking spot into not only parklets, but parking spots have been temporary health clinics, urban farms, and bike repair shops. Resulting from the initiative are wholesome conversations on the importance of green space and a reflection on the use of the public realm.
We'll be talking about parking on Thursday September 13th and we hope you can make it.
